Why your roofline matters

Fascias carry your guttering and close off the end of the rafters; soffits seal the underside of the eaves. When timber boards rot or gutters overflow, water soaks the top of the walls and the rafter ends, and you start to see damp patches inside, peeling paint and green staining down the brickwork.

Replacing tired timber with UPVC fascias, soffits and new guttering does away with painting for good and keeps rainwater moving off the roof and away from the house.

Overflowing gutters?

It isn't always a blockage. Gutters that have dropped out of line, joints that have failed and downpipes that are too small for the roof area all cause overflowing. We'll check what is actually going on and either clear, repair or replace, whichever makes sense. If your roof needs attention while we're up there, we'll show you photos.

Dry verge at the same time

If your gable ends still have mortar-bedded verge tiles, it's worth converting them to a dry verge system at the same time as new fascias. It's quicker, uses the same access, and finishes the roofline off neatly.

Roofline questions

Fascias & guttering: your questions

How long do UPVC fascias last?
Good quality UPVC fascias and soffits typically last for decades and never need painting, just an occasional wash. Our fascia and guttering work comes with a 10-year written workmanship guarantee.
Do you need scaffolding to replace fascias?
Usually yes for a full replacement, as it's the safest way to work along the eaves. Small gutter repairs can often be done from ladders or a tower.
How often should gutters be cleared?
Once a year is enough for most homes. Twice a year if you're near trees, ideally after the leaves have dropped in late autumn.
What colours are available?
White is the most popular, but black, anthracite grey, brown and woodgrain finishes are all available for fascias, soffits and guttering.
